Q: Where should I store my cake?

The fridge (Best for longevity): Refrigeration is your safest bet. It's essential for cakes with fresh cream, buttercream, fruits fillings or fresh fruit decorations. Wrap your keep in cling film or place it in an airtight container or covered tightly to stop it from absorbing any fridge odours.

Please note: Never store your cake near a hot oven, on a sunny windowsill, or in a damp area. Heat will melt your icing, and sunlight will fade those beautiful colors

Q: How can I keep my cake moist?

Nobody likes a dry sponge! Here are our top bakery secrets for keeping your cake soft and moist:

  • Wrap it tightly: Once you have cut a slice, do not leave the cut edge exposed to air. Use cling film or plastic wrap directly against the cut surface this locks the moist inside the sponge
  • Use an airtight container: This is non-negotiable. A Cake tin, a large sealed Tupperware box, or even a large mixing cowl covered tightly with cling film works wonderful
  • The "Room Temperature" the magic trick: This is the most important step! Chilling a cake firms up the butter, which can make the sponge feel dense. Always let the cake sit at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes before serving. As the butter softens, the sponge relaxes and regains that soft relaxes and regains that soft, melt in your mouth texture
  • Do not over chill: If you are storing it in the fridge, take it out about an hour before your guests arrive to let it breath and come back to life

Q: Why can't you post or ship my cakes or cupcakes?

We wish we could! Unfortunately, our cakes and cupcakes are far too delicate to survive the courier journey. We have not found a shipping method that guarantees they will not arrive squashed, so we prefer to keep them safe in our hands until they reach yours.

Q: Can you cater for allergies or intolerances?

We are very sorry, but we are currently unable to cater to specific allergies. Our kitchen handles nuts, milk soya wheat, eggs, gluten, seeds etc. While we take every precaution to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any product is free from traces of these allergens.

Q: Why does my cake look slightly different from the photo on your website?

We are constantly evolving our designs to keep things fresh and exciting! Sometimes, specific decorations or ingredients may be out of stock, prompting us to make a creative swap. Since every order is baked from scratch, we don't always manage to photograph the latest versions before the fly out the door. For a peek at our most recent creations, Follow us on social media.
